She is also the Vice President of Chicks With Picks Foundation — which helps female singer/songwriters with their music/craft and then in turn “the chicks”\, help those in need through music. Creativity doesn’t stop there\, within the last few years she helped pen a self-published children’s book with her husband. Being creative and helping people — makes her happy. Mrs. Hitchcock-Mast received her degree in visual communications and has been doing art\, art directing\, designing\, performing\, fundraising and consulting for many years. Recently some of her artwork has been lucky enough to be featured in several local businesses\, art shows\, galleries and it got a mention in the Phoenix New Times. SUMMARY:Block Printing Card Making Class
DESCRIPTION:DESCRIPTION\nSaturday October 28th 10:00-12:00pm\nBotanica Ramada\n$40.00 including a set of 8 cards \nIn this two hour class\, students will be printing a set of eight blank notecards by hand. Students will work through the printmaking process by first drawing an image on a block\, then carving into the block to create a relief print. Once these steps are complete\, students will use their block to print a set of eight blank kraft paper notecards by hand. Students will leave with their very own set of notecards as well as their hand-carved printing block. The cards measure 4.25” x 5.5” and students will have the choice of printing with either white or black ink. If time permits\, students may complete a second design on the back of their block. \nTickets are available NOW!!! SUMMARY:Hanging Kokedama Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Kokedama is an old art form of flora design originating out of Japan over 500 years ago. It is often referred to as the poor man’s bonsai. Instead of a pot\, moss is used as a container for planting. The focus for this upcoming workshop will be on utilizing succulents to create a living piece of art. \nJoin us at The Farm at South Mountain to make a one of a kind Kokedama. The class includes all the materials to make two hanging succulent kokedamas to take away (perfect for gifts/birthdays).
